Walt Disney Animation Studios is getting ready to release a sequel to 2023’s most-streamed film, Moana. Titled Moana 2, Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson are reprising their roles as Moana and Maui, respectively.
The film is set to open in theaters on November 27, 2024, and Disney has released the teaser trailer, showcasing some of our favorite characters from the original film, including Hei Hei, Pua, and many more.
The film’s plot centers around Moana receiving a call from her ancestors, where she must “journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”
Moana 2 was directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, and features music by Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina.
