The Dresden Dolls, which consists of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione, played a sold-out show at 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on Friday evening, with a second show on Saturday night.

The crowd on Friday was lucky enough to not only hear classic faves like “Girl Anachronism”, “Backstabber”, and “Missed Me”, but also some new music and covers peppered in throughout the night.

The crowd went wild when the band covered Bo Burnham’s song “Welcome to the Internet” and went on to cover Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”, which gave us some epic drumming from Brian. The show was playful and fun, with Amanda and Brian engaging with the audience throughout the entire show.

If you get a chance to see them perform this year in Boston or anywhere else, I’d highly recommend it. It was absolutely the best show I’ve seen this year, I left with such a smile on my face and a post-concert high.
