BLUE LOCK fans can officially mark their calendars — the highly anticipated second season of the competitive sports anime is set to premiere on Japanese television starting October 5. This season is slated for a 14-episode run.
BLUE LOCK follows the dreams of 300 high school students who aim to become an absolute ace striker and lead Japan’s Men’s National Team to win the next World Cup tournament. However, if they are eliminated from the BLUELOCK training program they will never be able to play for the national team, and their career is finished. Only one whose ego and skill triumphs over all will emerge on top.
BLUE LOCK is based on the award-winning manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, and serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.
In the meantime, make sure not to miss BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- when it hits theaters in North America on June 28. The film, which is based on the manga spin-off series, pivots back to the events of season 1 through the eyes of Seishiro Nagi! Check out our review here.
