During the weekend of June 20-23, the Superhero Comic Convention presented by Thomas J. Henry took place in San Antonio, Texas.
Guests included Orlando Bloom, Chris Pine, Tatiana Maslany, Tom Glynn-Carney, Brandon Routh, Diane Guerrero, Pom Klementieff, Diego Luna, Iman Vellani, Jaimie Alexander, Andy Serkis, and many more.
Andy Serkis flew in from England a mere three hours before he was scheduled to answer fan questions at his panel, and despite his tight schedule, he appeared happy to be there. He smiled widely at fans as he graciously answered questions, discussing how much he enjoys playing Gollum and how he will reprise that role. He ended his panel by using his Gollum voice to say his most iconic line, “My precious,” to the delight of fans in attendance.
Chris Pine discussed his love for reading and classic films, as well as spending time with his dogs who he calls his soulmates.
Orlando Bloom discussed how he is excited for his upcoming productions Deep Cover and The Cut, which are both currently in post-production. He also commended the fans who dressed in their best cosplay, saying it’s one of the things he loves most about attending fan conventions.
Tatiana Maslany expressed how the twerking scene in SheHulk: Attorney at Law was probably the highlight of her life.
Despite the heat, fans enjoyed free autographs and selfies with select celebrities including Lea Thompson, and Sam Witwer, among others. Another free perk offered at the convention was an arcade area where attendees could play new and old arcade games.
Overall, it was a weekend full of fun panels, photographs, autographs, and a few free treats for fans.
